The FN AR-15 Cold Hammer Forged (CHF) barrel is built from FNs proprietary high-grade Chrome Moly Vanadium steel, the same barrel steel and forging process used for FN machine gun barrels designed to withstand extreme heat and sustained fire. Each barrel is Magnetic Particle tested to help ensure consistent quality and structural integrity. A chrome-lined bore and chamber improve corrosion resistance and reduce heat erosion for extended barrel life and reliable chambering/extraction. M4-style feed ramps and barrel extension support consistent feeding, while the matte black phosphate finish helps resist external corrosion and oxidation.
