Springfield’s M1A series of semiautomatic rifles, inspired by the classic U.S. Military M14, offers shooters a chance to own an icon. This rifle, the M1A SOCOM 16, takes the M1A platform and shrinks it down to a remarkably compact and portable size. Chambered in .308 Winchester, M1A SOCOM 16 has a specially-engineered 16.25″ barrel that’s mated to the gas system with a proprietary muzzle brake to significantly reduce felt recoil. Other features include black parkerized finish on metalwork, forward scout-style picatinny mount, an enlarged ghost ring aperture rear sight, XS Sights tritium insert front sight and synthetic stock with sling swivels.
